Block printing workshop films
We’ve made this series of films to share what we do and help you discover how to make your own fabulous patterns and block-print them onto paper and fabric. Join us in our Sussex workshop where we will show you how to create your very own special block printed patterns and create your own block printing practice.
We have created these four films to show you – step by step how to make your own designs – first cutting your block and printing onto paper, then learning how to print onto fabric, make mordant prints and finally explore resist printing and indigo dyeing.
These films are born out of our desire to share our passion for this wonderful craft as well as many years of commercial block printing experience – we want you to get in touch with you inner pattern maker and feel the joy of creating papers and fabrics for yourself in this simple and low tech way.
Each film is available as a standalone or as a package. They come with full materials list & instructions as well as online support and the opportunity to meet up in our Sussex workshop.

The films and all the downloads are yours to keep for ever. We are also here to support you online through your own pattern making journey and would love you to visit us in our Sussex workshop.
What else do I get to support my learning?
With every film you receive a full materials list as well as all the recipes and instructions you need to work alongside us as well as independently. These will be available to download as a PDF.
Each film then takes you step-by-step through the individual projects – supporting you through an easy to follow journey that will help you develop and sustain your own block printing skills, one step at a time.
The films are structured into easy to use sections that you can move easily between. Full instructions are also given about how to finish your fabric.
By sharing our knowledge through these films, we hope to create a community of fellow block printers, passionate about patterns and working sustainably and in harmony with nature.
