About Sarah Burns Patterns

At Sarah Burns Patterns we believe in using natural processes that are kind to the environment and reflect the beauty of nature and the world around us. We use natural dyes, water based inks and 100 percent natural linen. Sarah Burns Patterns believe that we should only have things in our home, which are kind and beautiful to us and to the planet.

Beautiful chalk, fracturing in the light and rain. $Beautiful chalk, fracturing in the light and rain. We use chalk to make our resist patterns and in our dyeing too - it’s a wonderful source of alkaline material right beneath our feet. The South and North Downs are all that remains of a great chalk dome that once covered the Weald millions of years ago, it lights our way as we walk these beautiful chalky hills and creates very special habitats for beautiful flowers & insects. It inspires so much of what we do here in our South Downs workshop 🤍$
